So, everymorning I hear...

"What or Who are you resisting?"

And, I picked up the "Managing Thought" book from Mary Lore last night,

where she explains that our ACTIONS

are TRIGGERED by our THOUGHTS & to some level BEHAVIORS...

Ok, I knew that... AND,

OUR THOUGHTS are triggered by what we BELIEVE, by what we VALUE...

So -

BELIEFS

trigger

THOUGHTS/BEHAVIORS

which trigger

ACTIONS...

The reason that change is SO difficult to imbed into individuals or teams or organizations...

Changing our BELIEFS IS HARD!

When the question comes...

WHAT ARE YOU RESISTING?

Many people answer - "NOTHING... I am not resisting anything..."

Maybe not - from a behavior or a thought standpoint...

but what about from a BELIEF stand point?

What BELIEFS are you RESISTING?

What VALUES are you RESISTING?

If you are desiring a better life in any way - if you are trying to GROW - to CHANGE...

To develop new behaviors...

YOU WILL NEVER DO IT sustainably - IF YOU DO NOT CHANGE YOUR BELIEFS...

So, what BELIEFS are you RESISTING?

What do you CARE about?

How can you CARE about it DIFFERENTLY?

What do you BELIEVE about work, about school, about people, about SPECIFIC people?

And, HOW CAN YOU EVOLVE, TRANSFORM... ACCEPT a different BELIEF

to trigger a different THOUGHT

to trigger different ACTION

to trigger a different OUTCOME?

Most people that I have this conversation with - ROLL their eyes at me... or just look puzzled...

"I am not RESISTING anything!"

Trust me - WE ARE ALL RESISTING SOMETHING...

We are resisting WHATEVER it is that is keeping us from growing faster,

or ACHIEVING whatever part of our dreams or vision... more deliberately.

So - maybe the question is not WHO or WHAT are you RESISTING...

but more specifically...

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BELIEVE IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE YOUR DREAMS?

... THE LIFE YOU WANT TO LIVE?

And, how can you ACCEPT those BELIEFS FULLY into your BEING?

Instead of "resisting" them...

Think about it...

"What BELIEF am I resisting...

that will set me FREE...

and, UNLEASH me into the world?"

in harmony,

Nestor
