Yesterday was one of those days that started earlier and ended later than I would normally choose.
And, it was FULL... I won't bore you with details... but it was so VERY full of work, of life... started with tax stuff, visits to the State offices, working to close on a rental property, into the office, steering programs, driving to the Eastern Shore, shooting skeet, getting to know our team, crabs, drives, homework, work - work...
It was FULL...
As I was wrapping up my day last night, preparing for today's talk at work... I came across the line, Mindfulness is the process of actively noticing new things. I thought to myself its also about noticing beauty.
There was a moment, as I was crossing the Bay Bridge over the Chesapeake where the world stopped... and turned BLUE.
The water was still...
The boats were running.
The bridge was high and sharp.
The water was blue... so very blue and still.
The sky bled out of the water perfectly and filled every void of my view...
It was BLUE... oh so very BLUE and perfect.
Amidst my very FULL day, I was at peace... and I allowed myself to dream about being on that water on a boat... with the motor off drifting in silence toward the sun... Aiming right to where the water and sky meet...
It was blue... just simply blue.. perfectly blue.
I smiled as I thought about how certain I am of the beauty that lies beyond and behind and below all of the noise...
I smiled as I thought about how fortunate I was, to simply BE...
It was a very, very full day...
and it was blue...
So
perfect...
blue.
In harmony,
Nestor
