At an amazing leadership seminar this weekend with Dr. Thayer.
He is 92 years young, and has spent the last 60 years studying, exploring, writing about and developing the bedrock concepts of leadership.
So many thoughts to share...
And, I will try to stay in this vein for a few days.
I will share two before I run downstairs for this final morning of lecture.
1. "If you want to know the kind of life (or company) you deserve, look at the one you've got." Lee Thayer
So much to read into this.
My first thought was... wow... do I really deserve this amazing life? This amazing family? My first thought was of worthiness. Which was a good thing. For many years my first thought focused on the life and the gifts that I did not have, rather than the one I do. And, the one I do, is amazing.
My second thought was... and so, if I want to deserve a bigger one, a better one... I must create that reality. I must make the choices... and more importantly I must BE the version of me that can deliver it!
My only caution is be careful of where you place blame. Blame in and of itself is useless and destructive. If you place it on yourself, you destruct your worthiness. If you place it on others, you discount their contribution, and make true gratitude, and thus happiness, impossible.
So, work hard to abolish blame.
Work hard to BE the version of yourself you need to BE, to Do what you must Do, to LIVE the life that you deserve live. IThis is very much the concept of Dr. Thayer.)
2. Learning = Growth and Growth = Life!
Can there be any simpler conclusion,
any simpler formula,
any truer statement...?
Learning = Growth
Growth = Life
Let's Grow TOGETHER... in harmony!
