Yesterday I had the pleasure of catching up with one of my favorite people on earth...
and, he is a Harmony model...
Those two things are not necessarily correlated...
He inspires me to live, to love, to think, to grow...
and he shared his metaphor of
THE HOURGLASS
Our life is sand... in an hourglass.
We have a fixed amount it...
We don't control it... the vast majority of it.
We don't control what granule of sand comes next. We don't know what is in store for us.
We can't change the granules that have landed. They are gone... building a pile of past memories that we may or may not remember going forward...
ALL WE CONTROL
THE LIFE
THAT WE GET TO LIVE
IS THE
SINGLE
GRANULE
OF
SAND
THAT
IS
FLYING
THROUGH
THE MOMENT
We only get to LIVE the one granule
and we get an instant to experience it, feel it, love it, embrace it
OR
hate it, envy in it, wish we could alter it, or even miss it completely because we were lost
in some anxiety about which one will fall next,
or the one that just fell...
Life is lived a single grain of falling sand at a time...
AND
we have some power over that single falling granule...
we can appreciate it
we can see the beauty in it
we can learn from it
we can admire it
or not...
Life is a fixed quantity... an unknown quantity.
The hourglass of life has a opaque top...
we don't know how much sand is left
at any time
which should make our
awareness
mindfulness
appreciation
love
for that
single
grain
of
sand
so very, very intense and focused.
THIS
IS
HARMONY
...
our ability to know that there is only one grain we get to live...
and we can choose to make that
a grain that falls to harmony or falls to disharmony...
and harmony begets harmony...
and with every grain that falls...
there is one grain less to enjoy...
If we are distracted...
if we are too worried about what grain will fall next...
how many are left...
how we regret the ones that have fallen...
...
we miss it all...
I am tempted to fill my house with hourglasses...
at least have one 24 hour one that brings my focus in every day...
visualize it...
step outside of yourself
see yourself inside of your life watching these magnificent crystals fall...
are you dodging and avoiding the falling boulders...
or are you watching them entranced
by their beauty?
I see my life...
I see my grains.. .
they are not grains of sand
but nuggets of gold...
Each one
is
different
unique
made of the most precious of...
I can't tell...
they reflect
beautiful colors
and images...
I can see the past
reflecting off the falling gems...
I can see the future vaguely...
it is so very beautiful
onto itself...
wow
look at
it...
this one
right
here
...
I can almost
touch it
...
It is
glowing
radiating
light...
It is
the most beautiful
thing
ever...
wow...
here comes
another...
I
can
almost
touch
it...
in harmony,
Nestor
