ONE

I met a friend the other night who said,

"I read your HARMONY posts...

I read all of them...

And, sometimes I feel good, and other days and weeks

I struggle..."

There was disappointment in her voice, a sense of failure.

TWO

Yesterday, a colleague posted about how "American Sniper was snubbed" by the Oscar's,

which led to a diatribe of divisive, hateful, angry comments from friends belittling so many worthwhile causes described at the Oscars.

THREE

In the middle of my own situation, full of wonderful "problems" to solve based on the growth of our business, I find myself struggling.

These are truly amazing decisions to be making about our business direction, and my personal well being,

but I am often lost and saddened by the relative trade-offs, and the lack of further process.

ONE, TWO, THREE...

Why do we expect perfection?

Why do we expect to be able to live in harmony ALL the time?  Disharmony and struggle is part of life.  It's the way our brains and hearts work.  Disharmony is TO BE EXPECTED.

Why do we think what we like should be what everyone else likes?  The Oscar's a few years back voted a war movie, Hurt Locker, Best Picture.  Are they imperfect?  Is it subjective?  Why do we expect what we like to win?

Why can't I embrace the amazing nature of my decisions, without being weighed down by the trade-offs?

While I don't know why our brains function the way they do... I accept that they do.

And, THIS IS EXACTLY WHY the daily DISCIPLINE and DELIBERATENESS of our HARMONY is so paramount.

This is why I love the "blogging" format.

If HARMONY was a book, which maybe someday it will be, you would read the book.  Hopefully, you would find it insightful and maybe even a little inspirational.  But then, you would put it down, and your life, and the challenges, and the disharmony would slowly fill your mind, as it always does.  And, you would go along, occasionally remembering the gist of the message.

This is why I so appreciate those of you that stay with me...

That stay in the conversation.

Because we need it.

Whether it's reading posts on HARMONY, meditation, prayer...

Whatever your means and methods,

RESETTING & RECALIBRATING is essential.

And, I, as you know ;-) Am a fan of resetting on the concept of harmony.

WHAT IS THE ABSOLUTE TRUTH of my situation?

WHAT DO I WANT?

HOW DO I GET THERE?

I have never said that this is a one-way trip.

I have never said that we can graduate.

My son and I were working on a math problem the other day...

x = log y base 3 or something like that which meant x equals 3 to the y power... (I may have that wrong).  ANYWAY...

The graph is asymptotic...

Life is asymptotic...

HARMONY is asymptotic...

We can approach a better, more successful, happier life... a little bit more each day...

And, unlike the certainty of a mathematical function...

LIFE CAN TURN ON A DIME... on an ill spoken word, on a tragedy, on a disillusion, on a broken dream, on a missed expectation, on a rainy day, on a sad memory, on a tired moment...

But, our momentum matters.

A deliberate mindset for harmony,

A committed rationality for harmony,

MAKES US STRONGER.   It makes us better at bouncing back...

Or at least, it makes us stronger as we navigate our disharmony.

THERE IS NO FAILURE...

THERE ARE SIMPLY MOMENTS WHERE OUR MINDS SHIFT TO WISHING!

And, quite possibly, THERE IS NO VICTORY

THERE ARE SIMPLY MOMENTS WHERE WE EMBRACE AND ARE GRATEFUL FOR OUR TRUTH AND ARE INSPIRED BY OUR WANT...

Don't expect perfection...

Don't expect every moment to work out...

JUST realize how different those moments feel,

AND BE COMMITTED to yourself, to your mindset, to your HARMONY above all else...

And, you will keep finding your way back.

Keep your gaze forward, keep your heart strong, keep your smile ON!

And, know that EVERYONE around you is on a similar journey...

Full of doubt...

Full of hope...

Bubbling up in every moment...

KEEP CHOOSING HARMONY...

The only finish line is death...

It's the ride baby... put your hands in the air, feel the air on your face, and as your stomach sinks, yell and scream and laugh and play...

You get to ride it once...

RIDE IT OUT!

Right there with you, every step of the way, ONE, TWO, THREE...
