I expect conversations to go well...

And, they almost always do.

I enter conversations,

not knowing exactly how they are going to go...

but willing to UNDERSTAND the "IS"....

The reality of where things truly are,

what's truly important,

and

CRAFT A WAY FORWARD

TOGETHER...

TOWARD

what

we

mutually

WANT!

That's HARMONY!

SO

SO

SO

SO

Often...

I see conversations

SUCK!

And, they SUCK

typically for 1 reason.

People enter conversations

PRE-DETERMINED

to

achieve

what

they THINK is the best path forward.

That's it!

That makes the conversation great - if the other person agrees from the get go.

Or, more often, that makes the conversation SUCK - if the other person's opinion is actually different (and possibly better) in some way.

Even when people agree on something - when you feel like the decision is made, our human nature makes us battle it on some level.

People

don't

TRUST

each other.

They don't trust that MUTUAL WINS, come from MUTUAL WANTS...

and MUTUAL WANTS come from shared conversation.

OWN - the CONCLUSION... the COMPROMISE... the DIRECTION

that is set from good conversation.

DON'T OWN a PRE DETERMINED position, or idea...

It makes

CONVERSATIONS

SUCK!

It

creates

DISHARMONY -

because it creates an environment where from the first moment -

people WISH they didn't have to be a part of it...

or WISH they could have their way...

OWNERSHIP of your PRE-DETERMINED position into a conversation

makes other people take

OWNERSHIP of their interest and possibly their PRE-DETERMINED position...

That leads to WAR...

Conversations can be so

EASY

POWERFUL

ALIGNING

ENLIGHTENING...

But, you have to go in

not knowing exactly where you will come out.

You have to go in...

DEEPLY & HONESTLY

RESPECTING

the fact that someone else is going to be a part of it...

A REAL PART OF IT...

Not an audience,

but a PARTNER

in crafting a path forward...

SO SIMPLE...

SO VERY, VERY, VERY unusual.

Breaks my heart every time!

Fighting for harmony,

Nestor
